Nostalgie Translation

A translation of Jupiter’s “Nostalgie” from their album “Classical Element”. It is a slow, gentle and beautiful piece, contrasting with the strong songs that fill the rest of the tracklist.

Please do not steal this translation or use it publicly without my permission. All rights belong to Jupiter and their label Universal Music Japan.

Classical Element

Mune wo sasu itami to Kanashimi wo kakaeta hibi
Toki1 ni nagasareta unmei Shinjitsu wo motometsuzuke
The pain that pierces through my chest, and the days wrapped in suffering,
And the fate flowing through time, continue to search for truth.

Itsuka no namida Afuredasu
Nageki no koe ni azamukinagara
Yume no naka Kawaranu negai wo shinjite
Ima ha Asu he to mukaitabidatsu
Someday, the tears will over overflow.
Deceived by the voice of lamentation,
And believing in an unchanging wish in my dreams,
Now, I face tomorrow and depart.

Mirai... kieru koto no nai Kono kagayaki ga
Kurikaeshi Yami wo saite
Rin to shite Takaraka na
Kono kokoro2 yo Tadoritsuku hate ha
Nostalgie
Future... never disappearing, this radiance
Repeats over and over and pierces through the darkness.
My heart, cold and sonorous,
Struggles on to the end of this
Nostalgie

Hito to hito ga kanashimiatte Ai sae urei wasureteta
People hate other people, and even love is sadly forgotten.

Irozuku kiki3 no joshiki to
Kisetsu ni yurameku kaze wo kanji
Atarashiku Mezameta inori wo kanaete
Itsuka Kono basho he to Kaeru yo
In the scenery of metachromatic arbour,
And feeling the wind which trembles in this season,
My prayer is answered, and I waken anew.
Someday, I will return to this place.

Ima ha... futari hanarete mo Kono inochi ga
Mou ichido Yami wo koeru
Azayaka ni Kagayaite
Ano sora4 he to Tadoritsuku hate ha
Nostalgie
Now... even if we part, this existence
Will once again cross through night.
Shining so brilliantly,
Struggling on to the end of that sky is
Nostalgie

Mirai wo egaku Shiroi koyuki ni
Furiatsumoru omoi ni ima Yumemite
Painting out the future in white powdered snow,
Now, in the emotions that have fallen and piled up, I dream.
