Au revoir Translation

A translation of Malice Mizer’s “Au revoir” from their single of the same name. It was later a track on their album “Merveilles”.

いつも二人分の響く足音が続いてた道で
枯れ果ててしまった街路樹達が
大きくなった歩幅を気付かせた

Karehateteshimatta gairojutachi ga
Ookiku natta hohaba wo kizukaseta
On the road where our footfalls continued to echo forever,
I realised as I walked that the withered trees
Had become so big.

 

肩にすれ違う小さな落ち葉がまた空に戻って
そんな吹き荒ぶ風さえも今はなぜか愛しくて
そっと微笑んでいた
Kata ni surechigau chiisa na ochiba ga mata sora ni modotte
Sonna fukisusabu kaze sae mo ima ha naze ka itoshikute
Sotto  hohoendeita
The small fallen leaves that brushed my shoulder return to the sky again.
Why is it that now, even that fierce wind is so dear to me?
I smiled softly.

 

窓辺にもたれる見なれた姿が
陰る陽射しに映し出されて消える
あふれる想いにつぶやいた言葉は
「せめて夢が覚めるまで…」
Madobe ni motareru minareta sugata ga
Kageru hizashi ni utsushidasarete kieru
Afureru omoi ni tsubuyaita kotoba ha
"Semete yume ga sameru made..."
The form I'm used to seeing leaning against the windowsill
Reflects the darkening sunrays and disappears.
In the overflowing feelings, the whispered words are:
"At least let me stay until I wake from this dream..."
