証言 Translation

mademoiselle

Shougen ni yoru to Venetsia de Sono fujin to sesshoku shita nochi
Hanabanashiku shakoukai ni araware Pari wo miryou shita
According to testimony, after that madame was brought into contact in Venice,
She appeared in the dazzling high society and mesmerized Paris.

Hanseiki ga tachi Fujin ga mokugeki shita wakamono ha
Mattaku toshi wo toranai ano hi no hakushaku
Itsu made mo anata ha kawaranai
Hitobito ga kataritsuide yuku kara
Kioku no naka Kanojo ha anata wo
Ai shiteta Shinjiteta Koroshita
50 years passed, and one day the young count witnessed
That she had not aged at all.
You will never change
Because the people have passed it on to you.
In your memories,
She loved you. She believed you. She killed you.

Tada hitotsu dake wakatta no ha
Furoufushi to iwareteiru koto
The only thing I understand is
The thing called Eternal Youth.
Even now, he who is only referred to as Wild Oats²
Is smiling somewhere.

Dare ga sore wo shougen dekiru no ka?
Hito no ai Nani ga jittai na no ka?
Hitomi no naka Utsuranai keredo
Afureteru Sono namida ga shinjitsu
Can someone provide evidence of that?
What is the reality of human love?
Nothing is reflected in those eyes, but
The tears of truth are overflowing.

Notes
1. "Genzai" ("now, present time") is written, but Kamijo sings "ima" ("now").
2. In the traditional European language of flowers, "oats" meant "music/the witching soul of music". In Hanakotoba, the Japanese version
of floriography, "garasumugi (wild oat)" can also mean "lover's melody".
