Jolly Rogerに杯を Translation

A translation of Matenrou Opera’s “Jolly Roger ni Sakazuki wo” from their album “AVALON”. The Jolly Roger was, in older times, a flag that was flown on a ship to identify the crew as pirates about to attack in hopes of frightening the crew of the target ship. Traditionally this flag has been the well-known skull and crossbones, which are referenced in the lyrics. So, this is a pirate song!

1. “Bishi” literally means “a high-grade sake”, but I didn’t know a way to translate this without sounding overbearing or getting it to fit with the lyrics, so I just left it as “sake”.
