Red Carnation Translation

Translation of Jupiter’s “Red Carnation” from their album “The History of Genesis”. In the European floriography, a red carnation means “my heart breaks”. In Japanese floriography (hanakotoba), the carnation stands for “passionate love” and “devotion”.

Please do not steal this translation or use it publicly without crediting me. All rights belong to Jupiter and their label Universal Music Japan.

The History of Genesis

Madoi no shisen ga majiwari
Shigoku no tanjou ni tsuyameku
My infatuated gaze is met by
The shining of a wonderful birth.

Aa Tsumi na hodo no Utsukushisa
Kokoro ha ubaware Mou tomerarenai
Ah... the sinful beauty
Steals away my heart. I can't stop now.

Urei wo obita hitomi ha
Shinri wo utsushi yume wo omou
The eyes tinged with gloom
Dream a dream that mirrors truth.

Aa Kuruoshiku Itoshiku
Dakshimeta mama de Hanasanai
Ah, so maddening, so lovely,
I'll hold you tightly like this, and not let you go.

Ai ha subete wo koete
Futari wo tsunaitomeru
Tsuioku no yoru ni kieta melody
Megami yo Kiite
Chikaiaou Motomete
Eien ni tsuzuku ai no akashi wo
Love surpasses all
And ties the two of us
With the melody that disappeared into the night of reminiscence.
Goddess, (I hear you...)
Let's vow together (I'm searching...)
For the proof of love that continues into eternity.

Victoria
Victoria Aishiteiru
"Anata no soba he..."
Nakigara wo sotto dakishime
Victoria, I love you.
"To your side..."
I gently embrace your dead body.

Kagami ni utsuru Kanashimi no gen'ei
Oimotome yami he to ochite
Mizukara no inochi1 Ten he to kaesou
Itsumade mo kimi no soba de
The phantom of sadness reflected in the mirror
Falls into the darkness it pursues.
I'll send my existence back to heaven
And be forever at your side.

Futari wo tsunaitomeru
Tsuioku no yoru ni kieta melody
Megami yo Watashi ha
Kagiri ni ikite Sayonara
Eien ni chikau ai wo motomeru
Love surpasses all
And ties the two of us
With the melody that disappeared into the night of reminiscence.
Goddess, (I...)
I'll live with all my strength (Bid you farewell...)
And search for the love we pledged to eternity.

My heart aches for you
Our love will last forever

Notes
1. “Seimei” (“life, existence”) is written but Zin sings “inochi” (“life”).
