A translation of Kamijo’s “Gensou Trianon” from his first single “Louis ~Enketsu no La Vie En Rose~”. Trianon is a hamlet in the domain of Versailles and was home to the Trianon de Porcelaine (originally) and afterwards (and currently) the Grand Trianon, a palace meant as a retreat for the king and his family. It is a subsidary structure of the Palace of Versailles. From my understanding, “trianon” may mean “pavilion” - please correct me if this is wrong!
Please do not steal this translation or use it publicly without crediting me. All rights belong to Kamijo and his label Warner Music Japan.

Togireta Rekishi no ito wo
Tadoru saki ni Kakureta
The thread of halted history I follow
Is hidden before me.
Shounen ga mita yasashisa ga
Mukatta sora no shita ni ha
Kakumei no hi ga
The tenderness the boy saw
Facing beneath the sky
Is in the fire of revolution.
Yuredashita senka wo abite
Kieyuku hitobito no you ni
Anata mo mata Satteyuku no ka?
Like the people that have disappeared,
Will you too, bathed in the flickering war-fire,
Leave me behind again?
Stealing the illusion, the scattering flower petals kill the moon
And in the wavering darkness, the sky steals away our love.
Tachikomeru Kayaku no kaori
Nido to ha modorenai kyoufu
Oshikooroshite Kami ni inotta
The fragrance of gunpowder hangs over.
Crushed to death by a fear that won't return again,
I prayed to God.
Naze kono honoo ha anata wo kakusu no ka? Dakishimetai
Tatoe sore ga maboroshi da to shite mo
Why does this flame hide you? I want to hold you,
Even if it's all an illusion.
Tamashii wo nosete Chiriyuku hanabira ha tsuki wo ayame
Arasoi no keifu Kasaneteyuku
Riding on my soul, the scattering flower petals kill the moon
And overlap the pedigree of war.
