Bastille Translation

A translation of Kamijo’s “Bastille” from his single “Yamiyo no Lion”. The Bastille was a French state prison and defensive fort in Paris up until the 18th century, when a crowd stormed it and took over, killing its governor and several of the guards stationed there. It was destroyed by the revolutionaries after its capture. This event was part of what ignited the French Revolution. (You can read more about it here.) The song, with its music and lyrics, depict the antagonistic and frenzy of the revolt to capture the prison.

Please do not steal this translation or use it publicly without crediting me. All rights belong to Kamijo and his label Warner Music Japan.

Follow the king! (Follow the king!)
Yes, press on! Kill the demons!
Destroy!
