A translation of Kamijo’s “Throne”, the seventh and final movement of his “Symphony of the Vampire”.

Symphony of the Vampire

Gisei to natta Kagemusha no shi wo
Taezu toutobi Mune wo itameru
Dare mo shiru yoshi mo nai Shinjitsu no shousoku
The death of the body double who had become a sacrifice
Is constantly honoured and grieved.
Nobody has any way to know his true whereabouts.

Tatoe nanoridete mo Watashi wo dare mo wakaranai
JIjitsu ha nurikaerare Watashi ha mou sonzai shinai
Even if I were introduce myself, no one will understand.
If the truth were to be rewritten, I won't exist anymore.

Naraba kono mama dare ni mo tsugezu Kieyou
Soshite yami ni ikiyou Itsuka sokui no toki ga kuru made
So like this, telling no one, I'll disappear
And live in darkness until, someday, the time of enthronement comes.

Toki1 ha nagarete Itsuwari no shinzou ha
Chichi to haha no nemuru Saint-Denis he
The eras pass by, and the false heart is in
Saint-Denis, where mother and father sleep.
In the end, the past will be exposed by the medical world.

Sou naru to subete owaru Ouke ha rekishi sae ushinau
If that were to come to pass, everything would end, and royalty would lose its past.
For the dead sacrifices and friends, I've finally decided.

Ah Kirei na senritsu ga Karada no sumizumi ni nagareyuku
Sore ga chi no kawari to naru nara "Kore" wo kureteyarou
Ah The beautiful tune flows into the corners of my body.
If it replaces my blood, give "it" to me.

Shindou wo eguridashi Garasu no gyokuza ni nose
Chichi to haha no sugu tonari2 de Ou to naru
Gouging out my heart, I place it upon the glass throne,
And, beside mother and father, become king.

Nokosareta rosario Oukan naki ou no tame ni
Nando mo uketsugarete Futatabi mata meguriaeta
The rosary bequeathed to the king who had no crown
Will be inherited over and over. We'll meet again once more.

Koushite dare mo ga shiru kakumei no rekishi ha
Nani mo kawaru koto naku Dare mo kieru koto naku
Like this, everyone knows the history of revolution.
Nothing will change. No one will disappear.

Yume wo miteita Shounen wo matsu mirai ha
Kanashii dake de ha nai
Kare ha yuui na ou to natta
I dreamt that the future awaiting that boy
Was more than just sadness.
He became a magnificent king.

Notes
1. “Jidai” (“era”) is written, but Kamijo sings “toki” (“time”). I kept the original meaning because I felt it fit the translation better.
2. “Soba” (“beside”) is written, but Kamijo sings “tonari” (“beside”). “Tonari” has a sense of being closer than “soba”.

やがて医学の元に過去は暴かれるだろう is about the future DNA thing would reveal that heart does not belong to Louis XVII.
