目醒 Translation

A translation of XOVER’s “Mezame” from their album “XGATE”. It was also included in their second album “Aureola”.

Shaura often switches out written lyrics when he is sung, but this one is chock full of the instances (as you’ll see at the bottom).

呆れる程に哀れみも懐いた。。。
今軌跡を音楽に乗せて
Afureru hodo no yorokobi wakachiai
Kowareru hodo no ikari ha norikoeta
Nagashita namida ha karehate
Akireru hodo ni awaremi mo idaita...
Ima kiseki wo oto¹ ni nosete
Sharing the overflowing joy,
We cross through the breaking anger.
The tears that flowed have dried.
I was so attached to even the pity that I was shocked.
Now, I'll ride the song of this path I take.

 

まだ観ぬ世界へ    頂へと昇り詰めよう
瞳を開いて観える景色は確かだから
刻の彼方へ
Mada minu sekai he Itadaki he to noboritsumeyou
Hitomi wo hiraite mieru mono² ha tashika da kara
Toki no kanata he
Let's go to a world we've yet to see and climb all the way to the summit.
Open your eyes, because the scenery we can see is certain,
All the way across the other side of time.

乱れる程に言い訳は見出せず
流す涙で滲ませて    立つべき舞台へ彩りを添えた
今寄蹟を旋律に乗せて
Kuuhaku³ ni utsusu kokoro⁴ no rasen
Midareru hodo ni iiwake ha midasezu
Nagasu namida de nijimasete Tatsubeki basho⁵ he irodori wo soeta
Ima kiseki wo oto ni nosete
The spiral of my soul reflects in blank space.
Because I can't find a reason for the degree of its disorder,
Tears blur the place where I should stand, garnishing it with colour.
Now,  the miracle rides that melody.

 

この闇天超えて    頂へと昇り詰めよう
幻想から目醒めて    映る風景は全霊で受け止めながら    羽撃いて
Kono yozora⁶ koete Itadaki he to noboritsumeyou
Yume⁷ kara mezamete Utsuru kaze⁸ ha karada⁹ de uketomenagara Habataite
Let's pass through this night sky and climb all the way to the summit.
Waking from the dreams, absorbing the harmonising wind with our bodies, we fly away.

 

Everlastingを誓った        夢は彼方まで。。。
Towa¹⁰ wo chikatta Yume ha kanata made...
I pledge everlasting, beyond my dreams...

 

失う者    見失う者。。。手を差し伸べよう
失う者    立ち止まる者。。。全て置き去りに
愛する者    愛すべき者。。。導かれるまま
戦う者    挑むべき者。。。「さあ、 足を揃えろ」
Ushinau mono Miushinau mono... te wo sashinobeyou
Ushinau mono Tachidomaru mono... Subete okizari ni
Ai suru hito Aisubeki hito... Michibikareru mama
Tatakau mono Idomubeki mono... "Saa, ashi wo soroero"
The person I lost, the person I lost sight of... I'll hold out my hand to them.
The person I lost, the person that stands still... I'll abandon everything.
The person I love, the person I should love... I was led by them.
The person who fights, the person who I should challenge... "Now, ready yourself!"

新天地を拓いて    魅せる光景は幻想じゃないから
刻の彼方へ
Mada minu butai he Itadaki he to noboritsumeyou
Sekai¹¹ wo hiraite Miseru¹² keshiki¹³ ha yume⁷ ja nai kara
Toki no kanata he
Let's go to a world we've yet to see and climb all the way to the summit.
Because the scenery you showed me is not a dream, open up the new world,
And go beyond time.

Notes
1. “Ongaku” (“music”) is written, but “oto” (“sound, note, song”) is sung.
2. “Keshiki” (“scenery”) is written, “mono” (“thing, person”) is sung.
3. The English word “display” is written, but Shaura sings “kuuhaku” (“empty space”).
4. “Seishin” (“mind, heart, spirit”) is written, while “kokoro” (“heart”) is sung.
5. “Butai” (“stage”) is written, but Shaura sings “basho” (“place”).
6. “Anten” (not a normal compound; would mean “dark heaven/sky”) is written, “yozora” (“night sky”) is sung.
7. “Gensou” (“illusions”) is written, but in both instances, “yume” (“dream”) is sung.
8. “Fuukei” (“scenery”) is written, while “kaze” (“wind”) is sung.
9. “Zenrei” (“one’s whole soul”) is written, “karada” (“body”) is sung.
10. The English word “everlasting” is written, but a corresponding Japanese word, “towa” (“eternity, immortal”) is sung.
11. “Shinsekai” (“new world”) is written, but Shaura only sings “sekai” (“world”).
12. “Bakaseru” (“to enchant, to bewitch”) is written. Shaura used an alternate reading for the kanji, “mi”, to sing “miseru” (“to show”).
13. “Koukei” (“scene, spectacle”) is written, while “keshiki” (“scenery”) is sung.
