月下香 Translation

The couplet song on Versailles’ “ASCENDEAD MASTER” single, also included on their major album “JUBILEE”. This is one of my favourites – the percussion is amazing and extremely powerful.

Thanks to some help from Hime (thank you very much for all your help!), I found out that a “gekkakou” actually means “tuberose” (though my normal dictionaries won’t tell me that, wtf). Which goes very well with the song – in the language of flowers, the tuberose stands for “dangerous pleasures” and “voluptuousness”, hinted at in the lyrics. My assumption is that the dangerous pleasure is that between the Versailles vampires and their willing victims, who fall for their beauty and charm. The lyrics are gentle, but the music is violent… giving that edge of danger, the hint of lies beneath the tender words.

I can’t promise much success with the Latin, since I don’t speak it or read it very well, but I did my best. Yes, I have noticed now thanks to some pointers that all the Latin is spells lifted/derived straight out of Harry Potter. XD I’m still keeping the translation in there, though, to pretend like maybe there is a meaning to all of it (which, with what I derived, it sort of does, though I still probably translated wrong because I'm a loser like that).

Please do not steal this translation or use without my permission. All rights belong to Versailles and its label Sherow Artist Society.

月の光が降りそそぎ香る
情欲に溺れる快楽に誘われ
Tsuki no hikari ga furisosogi kaoru
Jouyoku ni oboeru keraku ni yuuware
The light of the moon is raining a fragrance down incessantly
You drown in passions, enticed to pleasure

運命を背負う 悪魔の囁きに欺く
Unmei wo seou Akuma no sasayaki ni azamuku
Burdened with fate, you are deceived by the whisper of a devil

Imperio Crucio Nox
Morsmordre Mortis
Drensoripeo Descendo
Enervate Altus Erecto
Lumos Solarum Accio
Liberacorpus Leviosa
Aparecium Ascendio
Renervate Legilimens
The domineering stars torture
And bite you to death.
Descendants,
Cherish our weakening pride.
Destroy the light of the sun!
Fickle children,
Appear and ascend
Revive the chosen!

世界の果てまで 鳴り響く警告の鐘が
時を越えて 告げてる
互いに許し合う言葉 慰め合って
強く抱いて 心癒して
Sekai no hate made Narihibiku keikoku no kane ga
Toki wo koete Tsugeteru
Tagai ni yurushiau kotoba Nagusameatte
Tsuyoku daite Kokoro iyashite
Until the end of the world, the warning bells reverberate,
Crossing through time to announce us.
Together, we forgive with words and comfort each other,
I will embrace you strongly, and heal your heart.

宇宙に存在する唯一の精神
神が創り出す瞬間に従い
Uchuu ni sonzai suru yuitsu no seishin
Kami ga tsukuridasu shunkan ni shitagai
I am the sole existence in this universe
In accordance with God's momentary fabrication.

契約の印 天使の導きに誓って
Keiyaku no shirushi Tenshi no michibiki chikatta
The seal of our contract you pledge to the guidance of angels.

終わりなき時を…
永遠を欲しがる者 全てを生命と同じ
運命の中 気付いた
真実の光に溢れ 包んだ愛を

Unmei no naka Kizutsuita
Shinjitsu no hikari ni afure Tsutsunda ai wo

Time without end...
Those who desire forever, everything is the same as life
And in the midst of fate, that is what I realized.
The love you were wrapped in overflows into the true light,
A legend that rides this song.

Thank you for translating =)

I studied latin in high school, and spanish is the evolution of latin, so maybe I can take a look on it and try to help you with the part in latin. But I don't promise something XD

And I have a question with the title of the song: I have found that "gekkakou", with this kanjis, is a flower named "tuberose". And I have realised that the meaning of the kanjis are "scent under the moon". Has your translation a special meaning?
Do I explain me? =S

If you'd help me with the Latin that would be awesome. XD If you can't do it that's fine, who speaks Latin fluently anyway, these days? Haha.

And as for "gekkakou" itself, nothing showed up when I initially wrote it in, but with further research I see you're right and that it is "tuberose". Had I been responsible and looked further to make sense of it I would have realized that. I'll change that tonight and write a bit about tuberose. Thank you for pointing that out. :) Whatever would I do without you?

XDDD
I can't stop laughing
XDDD
Have you ever read Harry Potter???
XDDD
The latin part are ALL spells of Harry Potter XDDD

OMG, how silly I was!! XDD
I took out my latin dictionary and old notes, ready to fight against the latin words, and when I sat and read it, I realized that the words hadn't a meaning between them (someones indeed aren't really latin), and that they reminded me to Harry Potter XD
I googled it and, exactly, they are Harry Potter's spells!!! XDDD
There are people who had translated this song before and realized it too XDD

This is so funny! XDD

Conclusion: don't translate it and write a note saying that Hizaki is a freak of Harry Potter XDD

About the title, I said it because I read that tuberose had a very preciated scent in perfumery, and I thought maybe you knew this and that "gekkakou" like "scent under the moon" was an intencioned Hizaki's meaning.
