Shattered Sky Translation

Translation of VII-Sense’s “Shattered Sky” from their mini-album “The Reminiscence of War”. I think that overall this is my favourite song of theirs.

略奪を繰り返す歴史に呼応するかの様に
目障りな存在を消し去りたくなってしまった
Ryakudatsu wo kurikaesu rekishi ni koou suru ka no you ni
Mezawari na sonzai wo keshisaritaku natte shimatta
I plunder over and over, as if to be in line with history.
I want to erase all unsightly beings

 

孤独という名の悪夢恐れ    最高な自尊心抱けるのか
敬愛と魅力は感じ得ない    世の為犠牲の花束を手向け…

Finally, we'll destroy the empire of sand! Remember the things of that world have limits.
Under the indigo sky, you're beautiful once again as you claw at the ground.
Smeared in lust, lament the falsely-continuing days...

藍空の下    砂の城は崩れゆくから    世界の果てで語り継がれるように示して…

Notes
1. “Shisou” (“thought, idea”)is written, while Shaura sings “sou” (“thought, idea”).
2. “Kokoro” (“heart”) is written, “seishin” (“mind, spirit”) is sung.
3. “Karada” (“body”) is written, but I’m pretty sure Shaura sings “ikitai” (“wanting to live”) instead.
4. “Akumu” (“nightmare”) is written, Shaura sings “yume” (“dream”). I went with the kanji’s meaning.
5. “Saikou” (“supreme, highest”) is written, but Shaura sings “koukou” (“bright, dazzling”).
6. “Hanataba” (“bouquet”) is written, but “watashi” (“me, I”) is sung.
7. “Kawashite” (“change”) is written, while Shaura sings “kowashite” (“break, destroy”) which he used in the previous chorus. I kept the kanji meaning since it worked better in the line.
