Rosen Schwert Translation

A translation of “”Rosen Schwert” (“Roses and Sword”) by Versailles, from their major debut album “JUBILEE”.  The title is German (my dad: “that’s horrid German”), so I might not have translated it quite correctly but since it’s not correct inof itself… |D The images of roses are commonly associated with Versailles, and Kamijo often has lyrics about swords. I guess it’s finally combining the two – the romance of the rose and the determination of the sword.

(Though I somehow suspect they probably meant “Rosen Schwart”, which would be “Black Roses”, but we must go with what is written.)

Please do not steal this translation or use it without my permission. All rights belong to Versailles and their label Sherow Artist Society / Warner Music Japan.

JUBILEE

Kono mune ni sasaru omoi to nagareyuku namida ga
Anata no kage ga zutto hanarenai
Megurikuru kisetsu no naka de ugokidashita hari ga
Ah... kareta kokoro wo tsuranuiteyuku
The feelings stuck in my heart, and my flowing tears,
Will never leave your shadow.
In the midst of the repeating seasons, the clock-hands start to move
Ah... they pierce my withered heart.

Sugisarishi hibi ni Akikaze ga tachidomaru
Mune ni yakitsuita mama no joukei ga
Ima mo ude wo hanasanai
In the days so far gone, the autumn wind ceases.
The scene scorched into my heart will
Even now not let go of me.

You aren't here with me, hidden in the fallen leaves.
Even in this world, I should be accustomed to it but...

Tomedonaku tsunoru omoi to karehateta namida ga
Anata no koe ga zutto hanarenai
The feelings that endlessly become stronger, and my dried tears
Will never part from your voice.
In the midst of the season we met by chance, in the flowing scenery,
Ah... You aren't here, just like that day.

Ikudo no wakare to Zetsubou wo kasanereba
Hito ha hitori de ikiteikeru no darou?
Kako ni gimon wo butsukeru
Even if they bid farewell over and over, and their despair piles up,
People go on living by themselves, right?
I tried that on my own, in the past.*

Chiru koto no nai Zouka no bara nado
Daremo nozondeiru hazu ha nai
Things like false roses, that cannot scatter in the wind...
No one should wish for it.

Tomedonaku tsunoru omoi to karehateta namida ga
Anata no koe ga zutto hanarenai
The feelings that endlessly become stronger, and my dried tears
Will never part from your voice.
In the midst of the season we met by chance, in the flowing scenery,
Ah... You aren't here, but...

Deai - Itami - Kanashimi - Kodoku - Kotoba - Shigusa - Egao - Yasashisa
Ima subete wo oshiyoseru
Yakitsuita mama no joukei ni anata ga ima iru ki ga shita
Dare mo inai hazu na no ni
Meeting, pain, sadness, loneliness, words, actions, a smile, kindness...
I will now push it all aside.
You now seem to be in that scorched scene,
Though no one should be there.

In the midst of the fleeting seasons, the clock-hands start to move
Ah... they pierce my withered heart.

*The literal translation is something along the lines of “In the past, I struck at that problem/question.” It has a sense that he tried and failed, or that it’s something he hasn’t been able to answer for himself. It’s awkward phrasing and doesn’t translate very clearly,
so I tried to fit something that sounded better and made a bit more sense.

I'm very annoying, sorry U.U But I study German and "Rosen Schwert" is a rose that is a sword. So, could it be in english "the rose sword"? =S

Sorry again, I was wrong: it's a sword that is made by roses.

Lol you're not annoying if you're helping me. Thank you for clearing that up for me. Like I said, I don't speak German. XD I'll fix that right away. (≧ω≦)b

Actually, german and english work quite similarly, especially in this case. You can translate it directly to 'rose sword' It doesn't yield any more meaning in either language - its a question of interpretaion... (my mother tongue is german
