Rose Translation

A translation of Versailles’ “Rose” from their new single of the same name.

Rose is crying in the glass.
My fate is for you.
I'll be in bloom until death of my soul!

 

鏡の中 指先を伸ばして まだ見ぬ世界 向こう側へ
記憶なのか? 追憶なのか? どこか懐かしい未来
Kagami no naka Yubisaki wo nobashite Mada minu sekai Mukougawa he
Kioku na no ka? Tsuioku na no ka? Dokoka natsukashii mirai
I reach out with my fingertips to the world in the mirror which I've yet to see.
Is it just a memory? A reminiscence? It's a future that I long for.

 

二度と戻れない 道を私は 信じて歩いてゆく
消えない願いはここにある 何も変わらずにただ貫いて
Nido to modorenai Michi wo watashi ha Shinjitearuiteyuku
Kienai negai ha koko ni aru Nani mo kawarazu ni tada tsuranuite
I can't return to that road again, the road I walked and believed in.
The wishes that won't disappear are here - they haven't changed, but carry on.

悲しみと孤独で磨きあげた刃は
あまりにも鋭い諸刃の剣
そう薔薇のように
I can't wield this sword in the glass.

Amari ni mo surudoi moroha no tsurugi
Sou bara no you ni
I can't wield this sword in the glass.
Because we live so beautifully,
This blade burnished with sadness and loneliness
Becomes a truly sharp two-edged blade,
Yes, just like a rose.

合わせ鏡の中の世界

Awasekagami no naka no sekai

This world within opposite mirrors?

 

あと少しだけ 自分が消せたなら 視界も晴れただろう
譲れない願いが塞ぐ壁 もうこれ以上壊したくない
Ato sukoshi dake Jibun ga keseta nara Shikai mo hareta darou
Yuzurenai negai ga fusagu kabe Mou kore ijou kowashitakunai
If, soon, you erase yourself the wishes you won't give to me that
